Chapter 10 - Unbreakable

One year later.

The sun was setting over the Manhattan skyline, casting a warm, golden glow across the rooftop garden of the new foundation my family had established.

The news of the Sterling family's downfall had become the biggest true-crime documentary of the decade. Preston and Victoria were denied bail and hit with so many federal charges—from attempted murder and bribery to illegal genetic trafficking—that they were both sentenced to consecutive life terms at ADX Florence, a supermax prison where their money couldn't buy them a single second of sunlight.

Their remaining assets were seized, liquidated, and ironically, awarded to Olivia in the civil suit.

She didn't keep a dime for herself. Instead, she used the Sterling billions to open the Leo Foundation, an international non-profit dedicated to protecting women and children from domestic abuse and medical exploitation.

I stood by the rooftop railing, holding a glass of champagne. Olivia walked over, holding an eighteen-month-old Leo, who was happily babbling and trying to catch the floating cherry blossoms in the wind.

“He’s getting so big,” I smiled, letting Leo grab my finger with his tiny, strong hand.

“He is,” Olivia agreed, her eyes shining with absolute peace. She looked out at the city that had once tried to swallow her whole. “We took their power, Claire. We took their legacy. And we turned it into something beautiful.”

I put my arm around her waist, leaning my head against hers. We had walked through hell, fought off monsters, and burned a toxic empire to the ground.

“They thought they were the strongest family in New York,” I said softly.

Olivia smiled, kissing the top of Leo’s head. “They just didn't know who they were messing with.”
