Adrian sat alone inside an interrogation room.
His expensive suit was wrinkled.
His confidence had disappeared.
The door opened.
His younger brother, Daniel, quietly walked inside.
Adrian looked relieved.
"I knew you'd help me."
Daniel remained standing.
"I came because Mom asked me to."
Adrian smiled.
"I'll pay you back."
Daniel slowly placed another folder on the table.
"I don't want your money."
"I came to tell you I'm testifying."
The smile vanished.
"What?"
"I warned you years ago."
"You laughed."
"I watched you humiliate Evelyn."
"You called it marriage."
"It wasn't."
Daniel slid several photographs across the table.
Hidden accounts.
Offshore transfers.
Forged signatures.
"I kept copies because someday I hoped you'd stop."
"You never did."
Adrian slammed his fist onto the table.
"You'd betray your own brother?"
Daniel looked at him without anger.
"No."
"You betrayed yourself."
