Chapter 12: The Arrival of Justice

Daniel’s face instantly drained of all color, turning as white as a fresh corpse in a morgue. He took a staggered, uncoordinated step back, his legs hitting the edge of a dining chair, nearly tripping over himself. "No... no, that's impossible," he stammered, his eyes darting around the room as if searching for an escape route from reality. "I am your husband, Claire! Marital assets are supposed to be split fifty fifty under the law! You can't just throw me out! I have rights!"
Claire interrupted him, her words cutting through his frantic rationalizations like a sharp, undeniable legal indictment. "You haven't worked a single day for the past two years since you quit your finance job, Daniel. You lived entirely off my hard earned commissions from my real estate deals. You used my supplementary credit cards to buy those luxury suits you wear and to fund your mother's weekly high end spa visits. Our prenuptial agreement states explicitly: All pre marital assets are entirely protected, and in the event of documented domestic abuse verified by authorities, the offending party must vacate the premises immediately with absolutely nothing."
"Claire! You can't do this! My son has an elite reputation to uphold!" Vivian shrieked, her voice reaching a hysterical, frantic pitch. She lunged forward with her hands clawed, intending to physically grab Claire, but right then, a thunderous, authoritative banging erupted from the heavy front door, vibrating through the penthouse walls.

"Police! Open the door immediately!" The heavy, solid oak door of the penthouse was forcefully pushed open. Four uniform city police officers stepped inside, led by a stern domestic violence supervisor, closely accompanied by an elegant, sharp eyed night shift attorney representing Henderson & Partners.
"Who called 911?" the senior officer asked, scanning the room with a practiced eye, his gaze instantly locking onto the overturned red wine, the tense posture of the family, and the prominent, deep red swelling on Claire’s cheek. Claire stepped forward, her composure absolute and professional. "I am Claire Henderson, the sole legal owner of this property," she said calmly, pointing directly at Daniel and Vivian. "I want to press formal charges against this man, Daniel Vance, for domestic assault. He physically struck my face in front of his mother. Furthermore, I am requesting the immediate removal of that woman for criminal trespass, as her temporary residence authorization was legally revoked via court order email at exactly 6:00 p.m. tonight."
