Chapter 25 - The Geneva TrapHigh above the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps, private jet charter flight 884 sliced through the frigid autumn air toward Geneva International Airport.

Inside the cabin, Claire Whitmore sat alone at the executive conference table, her laptop screen illuminating her face with a harsh, blue glow. Walter sat across from her, quietly organizing a thick stack of international banking warrants and federal asset seizure notices authenticated by the U.S. Department of Justice.

"We touch down in twenty minutes, Ms. Whitmore," Walter reported, adjusting his glasses. "Julian Vance’s legal team has already filed an emergency motion with the Swiss Federal Banking Commission attempting to block our jurisdictional freeze."

Claire didn't look up from her screen. Her fingers flew across the keyboard as she decrypted the final layers of the Zurich ledger Amy had forwarded from Oregon.

"Let him file his motions," Claire said coldly. "He doesn't realize that the ledger he inherited contains the digital signatures of every bribe Julian paid to Swiss auditors between 2020 and 2024. He didn't just inherit Arthur Sterling’s empire—he inherited his criminal liability."

As the jet began its descent, banking towers and pristine alpine lakes came into view beneath the cloud cover. But Claire wasn't looking at the scenery. She was looking at a live tracking map of Geneva’s financial district, watching a particular digital IP address bounce between three different shell corporations registered under Julian Vance’s name.

The moment the wheels touched the tarmac with a firm, shuddering thud, Claire stood up, buttoning her tailored charcoal coat and slipping her phone into her pocket.

"Walter, notify Interpol and the Swiss federal prosecutor’s office," Claire instructed as she walked toward the cabin door. "Tell them we’re walking into the bank's main boardroom with the complete unredacted ledger. We aren't going to negotiate with Julian Vance. We are going to lock him out of his own vault."
