The first night back, Jackson stood in the hallway holding one suitcase.
“Feels weird.”
“It should.”
He nodded.

“Which closet can I use?”
I almost laughed.
He caught it too.
We both became quiet.
Then Mia ran down the hall.
“Daddy!”
He crouched.
She hugged him.
