Chapter 10 - The Haven We Built

Two years later.
The Tuscan countryside stretched out for miles in rolling green hills, vineyards, and ancient olive groves under a brilliant golden sky.
The Gallo estate near Florence was quiet, far removed from the cold streets, violence, and shadows of the American underworld. Dominic had officially dissolved the Gallo syndicate, liquidating its assets into legitimate global charity foundations, medical research funds, and sustainable agricultural enterprises.
He was no longer a mob boss.
He was a husband, a father, and a man who had finally found redemption.
On the high terrace overlooking the sunset, nine-year-old Keo was sitting at a wooden desk, happily drawing comic books with his new set of colored pencils.
Linda walked out onto the terrace carrying a tray of iced tea and lemon biscuits. She wore a flowing white dress, her brown hair cascading softly over her shoulders.
Dominic walked out from the garden, wearing a casual linen shirt and trousers, his face relaxed and younger than it had ever looked.
He walked over to Linda, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder as they watched the sun dip below the horizon.
"Keo finished his first full chapter of Captain Galaxy today," Linda whispered, leaning her head back against his chest. "He wants to dedicate it to you."
Dominic smiled softly, his hand resting gently over her warm stomach, where their second child—a baby girl—was due in three months.
"He's a talented boy," Dominic murmured, kissing her cheek softly. "He gets his strength from his mother."
Linda turned around in his arms, her brown eyes filled with endless warmth, love, and profound peace.
"Do you ever look back, Dominic?" she asked softly, tracing the faint scar near his temple. "Do you ever miss the power?"
Dominic looked out over the vast, peaceful vineyards, listening to the happy laughter of his son, feeling the gentle heartbeat of his wife and unborn daughter against his chest.

"I used to think power was ruling a city, Linda," Dominic whispered, leaning down to press his lips softly against hers. "Now I know real power is having something worth protecting... and a home to come back to."
The golden light of the Tuscan sun enveloped them in a warm, eternal embrace, marking the end of their dark storm and the beginning of a beautiful, endless peaceful life together.
