Chapter 4 - THE FAMILY GROUP CHAT STOPPED BEING FUNNY

The livestream became family entertainment for approximately twelve hours.

Then the debt came out.

Nobody was laughing anymore.

Jason told Megan he wanted full financial disclosure.

Megan responded by calling Mom.

Mom called Dad.

Dad called me.

Then our cousin Dave somehow learned half the story and turned the group chat into a courtroom.

I shut that down immediately.

This is not family entertainment. Megan’s marriage and finances are her business. My address and apartment are mine. Stop forwarding screenshots.

That surprised everyone.

Apparently because I had live-streamed the hallway.

Fair criticism.

I had done that publicly.

Petty.

Funny.

Also humiliating.

I had to own that.

So I sent another message:

I shouldn’t have turned the hallway confrontation into a family show. I was angry. The boundary still stands, but I’m done broadcasting this.

Dad replied:

Fair.

Dave sent:

Respect.

Megan sent nothing.

That was fine.

I did not need moral superiority.

I needed my home left alone.
