Chapter 9 - MEGAN PAID FOR THE DOOR

The smart lock had been damaged when Megan jammed the brass key into the charging port.
Repair:
$189.
I sent her the invoice.
She paid it.
No argument.
That may sound tiny.
It wasn’t.
Old Megan would have called Mom.
Mom would have said:
“She was stressed.”
Dad would have offered half.
I would have paid because ending the argument cost less than winning it.
This time:
Megan paid $189.
Then texted:
I’m sorry I tried to use your apartment without permission.
No:
But you weren’t home.
No:
Family helps family.
No:
You embarrassed me.
Just the thing.
I replied:
Thank you.
Nothing else.
Apology accepted.
