She was completing a graduate program in hospitality risk management after years of banquet work. Her research focused on how luxury venues discouraged junior employees from reporting powerful guests.
At Whitmore events, she noticed a pattern.
Celeste repeatedly entered restricted service areas. Managers ignored it because she owned the house. Richard’s personal drinks were sometimes removed from the normal chain of service and delivered by his wife or Adrian’s assistant.
Nora reported the irregularity twice.
The first complaint was closed as a misunderstanding.
The second disappeared.
That was why she began documenting anything unusual during her own shifts.
“You were investigating us?” Richard asked.
“I was protecting myself from being blamed if something happened.”
Her answer displeased him because it revealed how unsafe his employees considered honesty.
Celeste’s lawyer accused Nora of staging the recording for money.
Nora refused every interview and rejected Richard’s offer of a private reward.
“I didn’t save your life to become part of your publicity.”
Richard withdrew the offer.

Then he asked the independent investigators to locate her missing complaints.
Both had been redirected to Adrian Voss’s office.
