Then his former assistant produced a voice message Adrian had ordered destroyed:
He does not need to die. He only needs to stop being Richard Whitmore long enough for us to close.
The sentence revealed intent without promising a specific outcome.
Adrian was convicted of conspiracy, fraud, obstruction, and offenses connected to the attempted poisoning.
He received a lengthy prison sentence and forfeited the hidden debt profits.
Richard attended only the verdict.
Outside court, reporters called Nora a heroic waitress.
She corrected them.
“I was a banquet safety supervisor. My title mattered only after people learned I was right.”
Whitmore Estate later offered her leadership of its new independent reporting office.
She declined.
