Chapter 8 - A NEW FAMILY DAWN

Six months later.

Spring had arrived in Ohio, painting the rolling lawns of the Hale estate in vibrant shades of green, yellow, and red.

The grand mansion, once cold and quiet following the passing of Preston’s late wife years ago, was now filled with life, warmth, and laughter.

Denise and Mabel had moved into the fully restored east wing cottage on the estate grounds.

Every afternoon, after managing the foundation’s growing charitable programs, Denise would walk over to the main mansion terrace to join Preston for tea.

Mabel had her own little oak drawing desk set up right in Preston’s private study, complete with hundreds of fresh coloring books and every shade of crayon imaginable.

"Look, Mr. Preston!" Mabel squealed happily, running out onto the sunlit terrace, holding up a drawing.

Preston set down his teacup, smiling brightly as he picked up the little girl, sitting her on his lap.

The drawing showed a big golden house, a factory with smoke stacks, a blooming rose garden, and three people holding hands: Denise, Mabel, and Preston.

"This is magnificent, Mabel," Preston said softly, running his fingers through her curls. "You know what my favorite part is?"

"The purple crayon?" Mabel asked, giggling.

May you like

"The purple crayon," Preston agreed warmly. "It reminds me of the day my life truly began again."

Denise sat across from them, holding her teacup, her heart full of contentment as she watched the powerful titan interact with her daughter like a loving grandfather.
