Chapter 9 - THE FACTORY REOPENING

One year later.
A sunny autumn afternoon in Canton, Ohio.
Thousands of factory workers, their spouses, and children gathered outside the newly renovated Hale Meridian Manufacturing Plant No. 1.
The factory had been completely modernized with state-of-the-art green technology, securing high-paying manufacturing jobs for generations to come.
Preston Hale stood at the podium on the outdoor stage, wearing a dark suit, looking out over the sea of cheering workers.
Beside him stood Denise, looking stunning in an emerald blazer, and four-year-old Mabel, who was wearing a matching blue dress.
"Two years ago," Preston addressed the crowd, his powerful voice carrying over the loudspeakers, "many people told me that traditional manufacturing was dead. They told me to cut costs, close plants, and walk away."
The crowd quieted down, listening intently.
"But a wise young lady taught me that the most important things in life are worth fighting for," Preston continued, looking down at Mabel with pride. "She taught me that truth and courage can overcome the darkest betrayals."
Preston stepped aside from the podium, gesturing for Denise and Mabel to join him at the ceremonial red ribbon cutting.

Together, holding a massive pair of golden scissors, Preston, Denise, and Mabel snipped the red ribbon in half to roaring cheers, flying confetti, and the triumphant sounding of the factory steam whistle.
The four thousand workers raised their hard hats in the air, cheering the name of the little girl who had saved their livelihoods.
