The Dallas County courthouse was packed with corporate reporters when Daniel and Gloria were led into the bail hearing room.

Both of them wore orange state-issued processing uniforms, their tailored linen suits and pearl necklaces completely gone.

Daniel’s defense attorney stepped to the podium, trying to present a smooth, professional request for an emergency cash bail.

"It was an executed corporate embezzlement scheme accompanied by aggravated physical assault, Your Honor," the state prosecutor countered.

The prosecutor turned on the projection screen, filling the courtroom with the crisp playback of Daniel’s violent attack.

The judge’s face went completely dark as he watched Daniel’s palm slam across my face while Gloria watched with a satisfied smile.

"Bail is denied for both defendants," the judge hammered his gavel with an absolute, ringing finality that echoed through the room.

"The court views the defendants as severe flight risks with access to international shell assets. They will remain detained until trial."
